As you join us online for this pilgrimage experience, please also join with us in prayer for your own spiritual journey, for that of the Tasmanian Catholic Church, and also for our pilgrims on this very special pilgrimage.
Please keep our Tassie WYD11 Pilgrimage group in your thoughts and prayers, that this pilgrimage will be a true experience of faith for them, that they will meet and experience Christ in the people and the places, that their outward journey will be a reflection of an inner journey of self discovery and of building their relationship with God. Please pray also that God will protect our pilgrims on their journey and bring them all home safely.
A Prayer for those not going to Madrid
Lord, we pray for those going to World Youth Day in Madrid,
that they will be enriched and energised in their Faith!
We pray for those of us who stay at home
that we too will use this time to journey
forward in our love for you,
in our openness to Your word,
and in becoming the people You want us to be.
AMEN
A Prayer for Protection
Remain with these young people on their holy pilgrimage and guide their way;
Shelter them with your protection by day,
Give them the light of your grace by night.
And, as your companions on the journey,
bring them home in safety.
May the Lord protect them and keep them always in His love.
AMEN
A Prayer for our Tassie Pilgrims!
Heavenly Father,
As our young people undertake this great faith journey
from Tasmania to Madrid for World Youth Day
we ask for Your blessing upon them.
Open their eyes and hearts, that they might encounter Christ in all they meet
and deepen their understanding and love
of your Church on earth
May this journey bring them ever closer to Jesus Christ,
so that planted and built up in Him
they will remain ever firm in their faith
and be witnesses of your infinite love!
AMEN
Tassie WYD11 Pilgrim Prayer
As young pilgrims of Tasmania,
we pray that this journey to World Youth Day
will bring us ever closer to Jesus Christ.
As we follow the way of the saints,
let their lives guide us to a deeper understanding of our faith.
From across Tasmania, we unite to join young pilgrims of the world
in celebrating the revelation of God in our lives.
As we come together, may we continue to be witnesses of your infinite love
We offer these prayers to you Lord
AMEN
A prayer for World Youth Day 2011 (Australian)
God of hope and grace, send your Holy Spirit as our helper and guide.
As we prepare for World Youth Day in Madrid,
help us to build on the many graces and experiences
that were the fruit of World Youth Day in Sydney.
Send us the power of your Spirit, so that we may continue to be your witnesses
in service and love to all youth in Australia.
May we journey in the great south land of the Holy Spirit
and share in this pilgrimage of faith.
Pour your love into our lives so that we may be apostles of reconciliation
and builders for the new creation.
Nourish and unite us through the Eucharist,
so that in faith we may be planted and built up in Jesus Christ.
We ask this through the intercession of Our Lady of the Southern Cross
and in the name of our Lord Jesus, who lives and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit one God for ever and ever.
AMEN
